Disney World is the most epic family vacation spot, it's the one family vacation that you look back on and you can't remember one bad thing happening. For starters, you don't remember mom and dad low-key arguing or that your sister cried because she dropped her Mickey Mouse shaped icecream. There's absolutely no recollection of the Florida heat, mass crowds, the crazy wait times for Seven Dwarves Mine Train, or your aching feet by the end of the night. The only thing you can remember is being one happy kid, the smell of sweets in the air, the massive turkey leg you demolished, and your screams of delight from every ride. When you look back you feel the bond of family, you can almost hear the laughter , and it's like the Happily Ever After firework show is playing again, almost as grand as the first time you saw it. Disney equals family, fun, fireworks, and some pretty amazing food!
So when Marc told me a year and a half ago that he wanted to take me I was more than just on board I was ecstatic. I knew I wanted to marry the man so going away with him to make memories sounded so great, but there was a catch. MARC HAD NEVER BEEN TO DISNEY WORLD!! So, while I rambled on about how crazy fun it was going to be, he had no clue. Mind you, he lived in Florida when he was a kid and he regularly went down their to visit his family when we was a teenager! At that point, I was even MORE excited and drooling in anticipation and hunger for a nice roasted turkey leg.
Fast forward to about a month ago and we are finally married and life is slowing down after being so fast paced and we needed, yes I did say needed, to go on vacation. We were thirsting for vacation and time together, our schedules are so busy yet so different and we craved time together to just be Marc and Morgan and the two crazy kids in love that we are. So we booked an affordable but nice Air BNB, Marc bought tickets to Orlando (because fun fact, for one of our month-aversaries, Marc had bought our Disney World tickets and it was the sweetest moment because we truly knew early on how we much we wanted to marry each other and have every good memory possible, together, forever and always. Yes, we are that mushy on a regular basis) and we were set and it was all about counting down the days until our mini trip!
The moments leading up, I was excited but Marc was the MOST excited, reading all the Disney food blogs and watching every vlog too! When we finally were off and on our way and it was just us and we were singing to my bomb country music playlist and making plans for concerts and trips for this year and the next. We checked in, I threw some makeup on to look like an actual person and not road trip Morgan, she's
fierce in a non-cute , non-catwalk related way. She's rough. Then we headed to Disney Springs, and I highly recommend going there to walk around and stopping by The Hanger Bar, its an Indiana Jones themed bar and their mixed drinks are to die for!!
The next day was Universal Studios and we had the best time! Both of us had been to universal but they had added new rides like Transformers and Jimmy Fallon, I sucked it up and went on the E.T ride despite me deathly being afraid of E.T as a child seeing as he was the star of many of my nightmares (ugh, the things we do for love), and watching Marc eat a ginormous donut ice cream sandwich thing from Krusty;s in the Simpsons section. After being there we went to Toothsome Chocolate Emporium I would issue caution, do not order the milkshakes, they are $13, they even look delicious but they ain't so just get dinner cause it was yummy. That was followed by Margaritas- to- go at Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville, and I'll tell you right now that mango Marg will forever plague my dreams as too delicious and too far from my house ( imagine me, Kim Kardashian crying face over it).

Then, finally the moment we had been waiting for, Disney World. We woke up super early, parked, and took the scenic route on the ferry boat over instead of the monorail. First ride was the Mad Hatter's tea cups (Marc and I unanimously love Alice and Wonderland) and it was all a whirlwind. Big Thunder Mountain was so extremely fun that Marc told me I was hysterically laughing the whole time and that was the complete 180 of me screaming in terror on the front row of the Mummy ride the day before. We teamed up with Buzz Lightyear and defeated the enemy ( I defeated Marc as well because I scored higher, just saying). I got squirted with water all over me by a camel on the Aladdin Magic Carpet ride and chickened out on riding Space Mountain but we had a fast pass so I told Marc to go without me, he absolutely loved it!
Now let's talk Disney world food, I will confess, I did partake in not one but two Dole Whip Float because why not, ya girl was on vacation where calories don't even count. Did Marc and I tear apart a giant turkey leg in under 15 minutes? Maybe. The real kicker was the Be Our Guest restaurant. You do need a reservation to get in but my cutie husband had been stalking the website and they had a last minute opening the day before and he swooped in for the kill and got it! You can be in 3 rooms, the dark and mysterious West Wing, the enchanting music box room, and the Ball Room. we chose the west wing because we are moody like that and they have the rose and every time you hear lightning the "scratched" picture of the Prince turns into the beast for a split second! It was kinda pricey but still good, Marc said they buttered his sandwich just right, whatever that means.
Disney was more than just food, though, in between every 5 minute long ride, were long waits and they flew by each time! Marc and I talked about everything under the sun , people watched, and just laughed about everything. We connected so authentically and so genuinely us. It was like one big date the whole time. So, the closer was the firework show, the Happily Ever After Show specifically. It was spectacular, it had newer Disney characters and the OG's from the 90's too. I'm short and after some dynamic positioning I managed to get a good angle to see and wowie wow wow, I was blown away. Not only was the show so cute and such a grand display, my amazing husband was there holding me and telling me he loved me and looking into his eyes and knowing a promise was fulfilled was so happy and so special. We kissed and then we lived happily ever after ( just kidding we headed home the next day and then were back to our day to day working lives but we did leave happy and with one more unique moment tucked into our memory bank).
In closing, we want more trips, more memories, more time just us. We got a bucket list and we have more trips up in the air for the future so hang along for the ride!
